The only insulation specialist that publishes the manufacturer’s wholesale price.
Outside our parent company, Factory Steel Overstock, no other insulation seller in North America shows you the per-square-foot rate the factory charges before you commit. Every other supplier folds an undisclosed margin into the unit price. We separate it out: factory cost on one line, your offered service fee on another. The math is on the page, not in someone’s back office.

Add accessories to your order at the same wholesale-plus-fee pricing model. Most builds need patch tape and either banding or double-sided tape.
Patch Tape
Sealing and repairing insulation facing joints. For repairs, 1 roll covers 15,000 sq ft. To seal, order additional.
Double-Sided Tape
Securing insulation to purlins and girts. 1 roll per 2,000 sq ft.
Banding (with screws)
Metal banding to secure insulation from shifting or sagging with fasteners included. 1 - 500' banding covers 1,000 sq ft surface coverage.
Banding (without screws)
Metal banding — supply your own fasteners
Wholesale Cost + Your Offered Service Fee
Two clear line items. Nothing else. Every quote breaks both apart so you see exactly what each dollar covers.
1. Wholesale Material Cost
The actual factory price for your insulation. Per square foot, multiplied by your total square footage. This is what the manufacturer charges — the same rate national distributors pay. No markup, no commission, no padding. Plus applicable taxes.
2. Flat Service Fee
A single fixed fee that covers our work sourcing the order, coordinating freight, and providing specification support. The amount is based on your material total — published openly in the table below. Same fee for every customer.
A Subsidiary Built for One Product Category
Two years of focused work in a single corner of the building-supply market — backed by the supplier network and operational backbone of a parent company that has been running cost-plus building supply since 2011.
Founded 2024
Founded in 2024, Insulation Overstock was established as a focused subsidiary of Factory Steel Overstock to extend the proven cost-plus model into the fiberglass insulation market. In just two years, our commitment to true wholesale + cost pricing, contractor-direct sourcing, and transparent margins has positioned Insulation Overstock as a leading public outlet for affordable, high-quality insulation products.
Direct Manufacturer Sourcing
Our quotes pull from NAIMA-certified U.S. fiberglass manufacturers we work with directly. The wholesale rate on every order is the rate the factory itself charges — not a distributor markup we paid and pass along.
Specification Depth
Perm ratings, ASTM compliance numbers, IECC zone-by-zone R-value targets, the difference between PSP and PSKP construction — we keep all of it on tap so a first-time buyer gets the same guidance a national distributor would charge a consultant for.
Parent-Company Backing
Insulation Overstock operates under the operational umbrella of Factory Steel Overstock, a BBB A+ accredited business since 2013. Same vetted supplier network, same freight relationships, same payment infrastructure — with the focus narrowed to just the insulation product line.
What Makes This Different
We removed the parts of the insulation buying process that waste your time and money.
Trusted by Builders Across the Country
“I got three quotes for my 40x60 shop and none of them broke out the material cost. Insulation Overstock was the only one that showed me what the insulation actually costs at the factory. Ended up saving about $1,800 on the same product.”
“We insulate 10 to 15 metal buildings a year and the pricing model here is the most straightforward we have found. The fee is fixed, the material cost is verifiable, and the rolls show up on time. That is all we need.”
“Had no idea what facing or R-value to use for my pole barn in Wisconsin. They helped me pick WMP-30 at R-19, explained why, and the total was hundreds less than the local lumber yard quoted for the same specs.”
R-Value Reference
All four facings are available in these R-values. Higher R-values provide greater thermal resistance.
| R-Value | Thickness | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| R-8 | 2.5" | Light-duty walls, interior partitions |
| R-10 | 3.0" | Standard walls in mild climates |
| R-11 | 3.5" | Standard 2x4 wall cavities |
| R-13 | 3.625" to 4" | Standard walls, moderate climates |
| R-19 | 6.0" | Walls and ceilings, cold climates |
| R-25 | 8.0" | Roofs, ceilings, extreme cold climates |
